[ fortunately (unfortunately?), he doesn't give a rat's ass if someone thinks he's ugly (or short, for that matter), so Atsushi's reassurance, while certainly kind, is mostly unneeded. still, it's a nice gesture, and the kid just got him a free corn dog, so he's not gonna be a dick to him.

Maybe that's the kind of thing they do at carnivals, though. I'm not sure, this the first one I've ever been to.

[ personally, he was much more insulted by the cape and crown they'd forced him to wear than the title, but some people are sensitive to that kind of thing. and since both of them had been named ugliest, he imagines a lot of people probably were. somebody probably cried.
