[ what's that annoying sound? —wait, holy shit, is someone actually calling him? he's only ever gotten text messages before. which is why he looks confused and kind of surprised when he picks up his CereVice (which he also holds correctly, but only after some fumbling).
oh, hey, it's that guy from that monster dating... thing. what a fun day that was. ]
—What? I'm fine. [ a pause. ] If you mean the shit with the robots, I never activated mine.
[ oh god, is Fay under the impression that he's a nice, helpful guy who checks in on the newbies? because in reality he just got tossed into ViViD against his will and happened to walk into that particular room. he looks away from the CereVice for a few seconds, a little uneasily. damn it, did he accidentally make another friend?? ]
That's—
[ unnecessary. but in the interest of not being a complete dick, he's not gonna say that. he does appreciate when people care about him, even if he's terrible at showing it. ]
...Thanks.
[ now to change the subject so he doesn't have to talk about himself. ]
[Luckily Fay can recognize the symptoms of "unable to discuss feelings", so he won't push it. Instead, he just bobs his head in response to the thanks.]
I decided not to activate mine, either. Even without necessarily meaning to, it would seem that we both made good choices, there.
Intuition can be incredibly helpful, can't it? There's some expression about not examining a gift too closely for flaws, but in this case, an exception was certainly worth it.
I believe I'll be following your lead on that one. I think I would even if all of this hadn't ended up being a disaster, since they don't seem very trustworthy so far.
They're not. Obviously you're free to make your own judgments, but I've been here awhile and I haven't seen any reason to trust them yet.
...And the robots aren't really that unusual. CERES has been pulling stupid shit with robots since the day I got here. Probably the first time they've handed them out to us, though.
Given the way things have gone so far, I doubt that a reason to put my faith in them will show up anytime soon anyway. Whether they're offering handouts or not, I'll keep my guard up.

I'm glad to hear it-- you were nice enough to check on me when I first arrived, so I wanted to return the favor.

he snorts at the comment about not activating the robots. ]
Yeah, no kidding. Good to know my intuition isn't completely useless here.
what the hell is seeing notifs on time
And robots, of all things. How unusual.
no worries!
[ ...over the wall into the dark part of the city. because that's a totally reasonable course of action. ]

Can you fight?

I can, if the need arises.
