So...the thing you've gotta know about Callaghan is that all of his...everything was because he wanted revenge on Krei. You know, the guy we thought was the masked man before. Alistair Krei is the CEO of Krei Tech. It's one of the biggest corporations for technology where Tadashi and I are from. I met him the night of the showcase at SFIT, too. He wanted to buy my microbots.
Anyway, after we figured out it was Callaghan, my friend Honey Lemon gave me a drive with some surveillance video on it. Before we fought Callaghan on Akuma Island we had found that there was a project Krei was responsible for called Project Silent Sparrow. It was meant for teleportation. Something went wrong though and they lost their test pilot.
Turns out the pilot was Callaghan's daughter.
So the next day or so, Krei was hosting a ceremony for a new installment of his company and Callaghan crashed the party, more or less. Threatened to kill Krei, bound him with his own debris to a wall so he couldn't move and he activated the portal and we had to stop him and it was just a huge mess.
We didn't kill him. Could have, but we didn't. But the thing is...Baymax is programmed to scan everyone. And when he scanned, he found a sign of life inside that unstable portal. Callaghan's daughter was still alive in there...so we jumped in to save her.
We rescued Abigail. Baymax launched his rocket fist to give us the last boost we needed to get out of the portal and while he was left behind me and Abigail were able to make it back to our world. Callaghan went to jail, Abigail went to the hospital to recover, and we went home.
Later I found out that Baymax had left me something pretty special. Baymax is only Baymax because of his nursing chip that Tadashi created. With that, and with Tadashi's old blueprints, I was able to rebuild him.
The Baymax that's here isn't the original body that Tadashi built, but it's the same heart. And now we're superheroes. So...I guess that's the end.
Yup. I turned his nursebot into a weapon and then we settled on a role to help everyone. And I don't know. Maybe. Maybe also because that's pretty hypocritical to be mad he ran into a burning building to help someone and then turn around and do something similar not long after.
Sometimes I don't feel like I really know him anymore. That's the really bad part.

but you made it back out, right?

I did. Baymax didn't. The only reason I did is because of Baymax.

but you use that weapon to protect people, right? he might be proud of that. I would be, anyway.

If you see him anytime soon, just gauge his mood. I'm not doing a great job at that myself.
