erwin's wary of getting used to good things and having them taken away, but it's so hard to not just enjoy what they have so frankly he's stopped trying to do that part (and even when he did try, it wasn't very long or very intensely). it's just a matter of never taking anything for granted.

and even just having this arm is a wonder: he watches levi clean it and still has a sense of wonder over it, how he can move the fingers like he did before he lost his original arm. he doesn't understand the technology of it, though he'd like to, and he intends to ask about it now that he's more used to having it.

he does snort at the commentary though, soft and fond, and grants a nod. ]
