[03] spoooonmaaaaan (ch. 25, 34-45; ch. 26, 1-11)

It's time to start experimenting on Eren! First things first: Eren is lowered into a dried-up well so that if he shifts into titan form and can't control himself, at least he'll be trapped. Levi and some weirdo in glasses (Hange) leave him there, ride out a little into the distance, and then Hange fires a signal. They wait. Nothing happens. They go back to the well and find Eren, hands bloodied, saying he can't shift. So they get him out of the well, Hange takes off to do more weird science shit (probably), and Levi's squad (+ Eren) proceeds to take a break. Levi is pissed off, because if Eren can't turn into a titan again, their mission to rebuild Wall Maria goes down the drain. He orders Eren to get his shit together and then wanders off by himself. A few minutes later, there's a loud crack followed by an explosion behind him. He turns around, and as the smoke clears, there's Eren, whose right arm (and only his right arm) has shifted into titan form.

The rest of the squad proceeds to freak out, thinking Eren was turning on them, but Levi steps between them and Eren and orders everyone to calm down. The squad yells at Eren some more, and Levi tells them again to calm down—when asked why, he claims it's just a gut feeling. Just then, Hange comes running back, screaming in excitement. She wants to touch Eren's titan arm. It's really hot. She loses her shit about how hot it is. She notices there's a spoon in his hand. Finally, Eren realized he can pull his actual arm out of his titan arm, so he does so (with some difficulty, of course). Levi asks him how he's feeling. "Not so good," he replies.
